Tom Brady hopes Gisele Bündchen will put her issues aside and participate in the Bucs’ home opener.
We’re told that despite the woes of his marriage over his decision to retire, the NFL star expects the model to attend the first home game of the season against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
A source said, “Giselle mostly attends home games. Tom and his team hope to return to the family box with their kids this Sunday for a Packers game.”
Page Six exclusively revealed that 42-year-old Bundchen fled to Costa Rica after an “epic fight” over his decision to return to the NFL. He was spotted in New York City last week, while Brady, 45, has been left behind in Tampa, Fla.
The insider continued, “Giselle has left Tom in the past during arguments, but always comes back when things calm down.
“They’re talking, but this time mostly about the kids. But Tom hopes they reconcile.
While the Buccaneers — who will kick off against the Packers on September 25 at Raymond James Stadium in Florida — currently have a 2-0 record, the start of their NFL season hasn’t been without turmoil.
Brady was seen throwing a tablet after a tense win over the New Orleans Saints last weekend and later admitted he needed to control his emotions.
“I have to be really careful about going ahead and putting my emotions in a good place, so it allows me to be the best player I can be,” the soccer pro admitted in a podcast on Monday.
Bündchen is said to have spent time with her children in Miami as marital issues began to arise between her and Brady’s return to the sport.
“His decision to retire is causing trouble in the marriage. Gisele has always been with the kids,” a source told us at the time. “They agreed that he would retire to focus on the family, then started his own Changed my mind.”
The revelation came after the Buccaneers quarterback missed 11 days of training camp in August.
When asked about his disappearance, Brady said, “It’s all personal… Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with. We all have really unique challenges in our lives. I’m 45 years old.” Am, man. There’s a lot going on s-t.”
Meanwhile, the Victoria’s Secret model has revealed in recent interviews how she sacrificed her massively successful career to support her husband’s passion and raise her children, “now it’s my turn.”
The source added that despite the controversy surrounding their marriage, the strained couple has remained cordial for the sake of their children.
Reps for both Brady and Bundchen — who share Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9, plus Jack, the athlete’s 15-year-old son with former Bridget Moynahan — have repeatedly declined to comment.
