Plural marriages can be tough.’ I thought it was okay to be sad, and I felt sadder than I thought I was,” shares the reality star on Sunday’s episode. “But I tried. his first wife, Mary Brownwhom he married in 1990, compared plural marriage to “any other marriage”.

“If the parties involved aren’t interested or unwilling to do so, there really isn’t much that can be done,” the 51-year-old, who shares 27-year-old Leon with Cody, tells the camera.

Robin Brown — who married the salesman in 2010 and shares two children with him, as well as three of her children from a prior relationship — notes that it’s important not to be “lazy” in polygamy.

“You have to pick it up every day,” Cody’s fourth wife, 43, adds in a confessional statement. “You want everyone in the family to be as happy as you want you to be. That’s the only way to do it successfully, in my opinion.”

Cody and Christine were together for 25 years before leaving. They have six children together: son Paddon, 23, and daughters Aspin, 27, Mykelty, 26, Gwendolyn, 20, Isabel, 19, and Trulli, 12.

The Utah native calls his former’s confession “sweet,” as he explains that he had to do “a lot of introspection” when considering how he treated her throughout their relationship and subsequent breakup.

Although Christine says she feels “really grateful” that Cody wasn’t “angry” during their conversation, she called their decision to leave their relationship a “big injustice.”

“I need to go to a place where I can rejoice about your happiness and your freedom,” Cody continues to Christine during his talk.

“Thank you, that’s like the sweetest thing you’ve ever said,” she replies, revealing later in her confession that “in years” was the best thing she said to him.
