Ruth Buzzi Jokes About Riding in an ATV and ‘Day Drinking’ Less Than 2 Months After Strokes

Ruth Buzzi is still making jokes.

Less than two months later her husband, Kent Perkins, revealed that she had suffered a series of “catastrophic strokes”, Rowan & Martins Laugh-In The actress shared a light-hearted Facebook post about going on an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) adventure and enjoying a few drinks.

“Doing some ranch-hopping at the ATV today, including just a little day’s drinking,” wrote Buzzi, 86, on his Facebook last week with a photo of himself, holding a can of beer in his right hand with his tongue out and his Eyes closed.

“It’s a corona premiere in my hands at our neighbors’ (Jack and Juanita Bragg’s) farm,” she continued. “And shoot… I was going with 18 hours of sobriety.”

“Still wine—thirty a few hours until,” she said. “Oh, well, Que-Syrah, Syrah.”

Last month, Buzzy gave his fans a funny and encouraging update about his health.

Along with a picture of herself and her cat, she wrote on Twitter, “Some people have luck, I have the other kind.”

The comedian added, after thanking his followers for “all your love, messages, cards, letters and sweet tweets”, “and although my final arrangements include cremation, I’m all set to make myself ashes.” No. xoxoxo.”

On July 19, Buzzi’s husband shared his health struggles via Facebook.

In a photograph of him celebrating his 85th birthday last year, Buzzi was seen smiling while holding a piece of pie.

“This photo was from about a year ago on Ruthie’s birthday. She wants you to know she’s not in pain and to know you’re sending your best wishes as she grapples with the consequences of the devastating stroke that left her bed.” But more disabled,” Perkins wrote on the comedian’s official Facebook page at the time.

She added that she “can still speak and understand” and “still recognizes all of her friends and loved ones. I’m reading her your wonderful comments and she’s smiling.”

“Her love for others knows no bounds, and she has spent a lifetime making people smile,” he wrote.

Perkins then saluted his wife for “bravely dealing with the situation with courage, believe it or not… and with God’s love in her heart and soul, she thanks you for being her friend.” And for the love you’ have shown him consistently over the past six decades or more…”

“Whatever it is, please know that you have always been loved in return,” he concluded.

Perkins’ message came soon after Buzzy shared an emotional message on Twitter, which Reading“Thank you for your love and friendship for all these years.”

Buzzi is best known for her role as Gladys Ormphby Rowan & Martins Laugh-InWhich aired from 1967 to 1973. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in 1973 and two Primetime Emmy nominations in 1969 and 1972.
