According to an expert, with King Charles III ascending the British throne following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, it is likely that his upcoming funeral will be the last time Prince Andrew will be seen with the rest of the royal family.

Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019 following a scandal involving the late American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“Perhaps the biggest drama was with Prince Andrew,” Shannon Felton Spence, a former British public affairs official and royal expert, told Fox News Digital. “If anything was causing the Queen’s stress, it was it; it was a real, real crisis.”

While at first it appeared that he was not traveling to Balmoral with the rest of the royal family upon news of the Emperor’s death, that turned out to be untrue.

“We know that [Andrew] was there. He was in the car with William,” Spence explained. “He was the second born son, so he’s going to be around. Charles and William had different opinions on how they should be handled compared to the Queen. The Queen said he could be more visible during the Jubilee, but Charles and William did not have it. Using the COVID excuse was the only way around it.”

“Although it was his mother, I don’t think Andrew would be front and center at the funeral and upcoming events,” Spence said. “Her boss is King Charles now, and she doesn’t have as much love for Andrew as her mother did. He’ll be at funerals and other official things, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this will be the last we see with the family.” Andrew. King Charles doesn’t want to carry him around.”

The Queen was not the only member of the royal family with whom Andrew was close. Furthermore, his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and their two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have maintained a strong bond as a family. Fergie, as she is affectionately known, was also extremely close to the queen and grieved her death.
