PFT’s Week 3 2022 NFL picks – ProFootballTalk

Last week hasn’t been a good one for us. Was this game great for anyone who picked it up?

The strange results framed 16 competitions. A 3-0 run in the final prime-time games put me at 8-8 on .500. MDS 7-9 finished.

For the year, I’m 17-14-1. The MDS is 14-17-1.

This week, we once again disagree on five matches. For all selections, scroll away.

Steelers in Brown (+4.5)

MDS’s opinion: The Steelers defense misses TJ Watt, and his offense isn’t great. Brown bounced back from last week’s shock defeat with a convincing home win.

MDS’s Choice: Brown 24, Steelers 13.

Florio’s Tech: Who has a players-only meeting after two games? Brown, apparently. In a short week, it might be too much to expect that the Browns will put the opportunity blown up against the Jets behind them.

Florio’s Choice: Steelers 20, Brown 14.

Texan (+3) Bears . Feather

MDS’s opinion: This Texans team is looking better than I expected, while the Bears look like they don’t believe in Justin Fields and are calling plays to force them to do nothing. I prefer Texans upset.

MDS’s Choice:Texan 17, Bear 14.

Florio’s Tech: The Bears gave the Packers a more fight than most expected, with the final score confusing. The Texans’ ability to tame colts after the jaguars had goose-egged the colts appeared to be very poor.

Florio’s Choice: Bear 17, Texan 13.

Raiders in Titans (-2)

MDS’s opinion: Titans is probably the biggest disappointment of this year, the No. 1 seed from last year looking like a team to rebuild this year. Raiders got their first win of the season.

MDS’s Choice: Raiders 23, Titans 20.

Florio’s Tech: How are Raiders liked in this? He took a 20-point lead at home. And when the Titans were blown up on Monday night, that was Bill. In a 0-2 team fight where one has a new regime and one doesn’t, I’ll take the one that doesn’t.

Florio’s Choice: Titans 24, Raiders 20.

Colts. In Chief (-6.5)

MDS’s opinion: Colts are a mess right now. I also have a hard time keeping them near the heads.

MDS’s Choice: Chiefs 31, Colts 10.

Florio’s Tech: The Chiefs once took a big lead during a playoff game at Indy. It will not happen again.

Florio’s Choice: Chiefs 41, Colts 17.

Bill in Dolphins (-5.5)

MDS’s opinion: The Bills have paced the competition for two weeks in a row, and they will continue it against the Miami team that is also 2-0 but not in the same class as Buffalo.

MDS’s Choice: Bill 28, Dolphins 17.

Florio’s Tech: The Buffalo defense must be better equipped to stop the Miami offense or two Miami offense than the Miami defense would be of the Buffalo offense.

Florio’s Choice: Bill 38, Dolphins 31.

Lions in Vikings (+6)

MDS’s opinion: The Lions’ offense is better than people thought, but their secondary would clash against Justin Jefferson and the Vikings would secure a narrow victory.

MDS’s Choice: Vikings 35, Lions 31.

Florio’s Tech: It has become a secret great rivalry with a couple of barnburners in 2021. The Vikings should be able to win at home. Whichever team prevails, the final score should be close enough for the Lions to cover.

Florio’s Choice: Vikings 27, Lions 24.

Ravens in Patriots (-3)

MDS’s opinion: Lamar Jackson is playing some of his best football right now, and he will be attending a big game in New England.

MDS’s Choice: Ravens 31, Patriots 20.

Florio’s Tech: If Baltimore can get JK Dobbins back, the offense will get a big boost. Other than Lamar Jackson, no one has been able to generate any real rushing yards for the Ravens. Meanwhile, the New England offense is in progress,

Florio’s Choice: Ravens 24, Patriots 14.

Jets. on Bengals (-4.5)

MDS’s opinion: After roughly the first few weeks, the Bengals would finally come on board with a formidable defense against a Jets team with a high-scoring victory.

MDS’s Choice: Bengals 38, Jets 27.

Florio’s TechBengal are getting desperate. The fact that he was fostered by the Jets last year will make it less likely that he takes the Jets lightly.

Florio’s Choice: Bengals 31, Jets 24.

Eagles (-6.5) on Commanders

MDS’s opinion: Jalen Harts vs. Carson Wentz should be a fun matchup, and I like Hurts to get the better end of it and show why the Eagles were wise to make him their franchise quarterback.

MDS’s Choice: Eagles 28, Commander 20.

Florio’s Tech: Eagles looking like a team of destiny. That’s something commanders haven’t seen in more than 30 years.

Florio’s Choice: Eagles 31, Commander 17.

Saints in the Panthers (-3)

MDS’s opinion: Rebuilding the Panthers under Matt Roulette hasn’t started yet, and he’s running out of time to turn things around.

MDS’s Choice: Saints 17, Panthers 10.

Florio’s Tech: If Matt Roulette doesn’t win it, he won’t be able to reach the end of the season. (He can’t make it anyway.)

Florio’s Choice: Panthers 23, Saints 20.

Jaguar in Chargers (+7)

MDS’s opinion: The Jaguars have played impressive football for new coach Doug Pedersen, and an upset here won’t shock me, but I think they will fall short against Justin Herbert and a good Chargers offense.

MDS’s Choice: Chargers 28, Jaguars 27.

Florio’s Tech: The world is growing. They’re good enough to keep it close, and maybe even win it.

Florio’s Choice: Chargers 24, Jaguar 20.

Rams in Cardinals (-3.5)

MDS’s opinion: NFC West looks open right now, but at this big game I like to make the Rams statement that they are still the best team in the division.

MDS’s Choice: Rams 30, Cardinals 17.

Florio’s Tech: Kyler Murray looks like a different player when he has mobility and is given the green light to use it. In the playoff game against the Rams, he was not healthy. he is now. #LetKylerCook.

Florio’s Choice: Cardinals 30, Rams 23.

Seahawks. Per Falcons (+2)

MDS’s opinion: I don’t have high hopes for the Seahawks this season, but I think they have to improve 2-1 against an unmatched Falcons team.

MDS’s Choice: Seahawks 24, Falcons 20.

Florio’s Tech: Seattle may not be a great team, but they are good enough to beat the Falcons at home. If not, it’s time for Drew Locke.

Florio’s Choice: Seahawks 17, Falcons 14.

Buccaneers. On Packers (+1.5)

MDS’s opinion: The Buccaneers’ defense has been excellent so far this season and will play well against Aaron Rodgers, a close and low-scoring game.

MDS’s Choice: Buccaneers 17, Packers 16.

Florio’s Tech: The books are shifting towards a team that likes to run the ball and play defense. Whatever it takes to win. And that would be enough to win on Sunday.

Florio’s Choice: Buccaneers 23, Packers 20.

49ers at Broncos (-1.5)

MDS’s opinion: Jimmy Garoppolo is better than Trey Lance, meaning the 49ers have a better chance of winning in the short term, as Lance’s injury was unfortunate for the 49ers’ long-term plans. They would secure a tough win against Russell Wilson and the Broncos.

MDS’s Choice: 49ers 24, Broncos 20.

Florio’s Tech: There is something wrong with this line. The Broncos are embroiled in the mechanics of play calling. The 49ers have an elite roster. Now that the quarterback position is resolved, look for the 49ers to flourish.

Florio’s Choice: 49ers 34, Broncos 20.

Cowboys in Giants (+2.5)

MDS’s opinion: Yes, the Giants are 2-0, but they’re as impressive 2-0 as it gets. Yes, the Cowboys are without Dak Prescott, but Cooper Rush has proved he can fill enough. I’m surprised giants are favored.

MDS’s Choice: Cowboys 28, Giants 20.

Florio’s Tech: Some 0-2 teams are due for victory. Some 2-0 teams are going to lose. The Giants are the losers, and under Cooper Rush the Cowboys can do enough to win.

Florio’s Choice: Cowboys 21, Giants 17.
