Keith Olbermann slams CNN’s Chris Licht over morning shakeup: ‘S–tstorm is here’

Ex-MSNBC anchor Keith Olberman labeled former colleague Chris Licht a “TV fascist” after the new CNN boss announced an overhaul of the struggling network.

Olberman lashed out at Licht shortly after CNN revealed that left-leaning anchor Don Lemon would be co-hosting a new morning show from primetime alongside network veterans Caitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow.

“Chris Licht (who, when we worked together at MSNBC, used to believe I used to eat paste) has now surrounded Don Lemon, an ex-Daily Caller ‘journalist’ and someone who’s called Biden last month. Republicans,” tweeted Olberman. , “@CNN S-tstorm is here.”

Collins worked at the conservative news site Daily Caller before joining CNN in 2017. While Olberman did not name Harlow, he referenced a recent CNN segment in which he asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre if President Biden would apologize after making the allegations. GOP adopting “quasi-fascism”.

Lemon, Collins and Harlow will replace anchors Brianna Keeler and John Berman, the current hosts of CNN’s morning show “New Day.” Licht indicated for months that CNN was planning an overhaul of its morning programming block, which has struggled to attract viewers.

Olberman, a moderate liberal, took aim at Licht and other executives at CNN’s original Warner Bros. Discovery for trying to shift the network toward straight news coverage rather than left-wing comments.

(And BrickLarken’s cut-and-paste complaint about Biden’s navies, and the doubling and tripping over this pathetic and hypocritical conservative thing, didn’t save him. You’ll never be dogmatic enough for TV fascists like Lich and John Malone may not be),” he added.

Keeler recently criticized Biden for delivering a speech with uniformed Marines in the background as he slammed Republican lawmakers.

“Whatever you think about this speech, the military is considered apolitical,” Keeler tweeted. “The position of the Marines in uniform flies in front of him behind President Biden for a political speech. It’s wrong when Democrats do this. It’s wrong when Republicans do this.”

Olbermann anchored an evening show on MSNBC from 2003 to 2011. Licht became an executive producer of “Morning Joe” after joining the network in 2005. He left to join CBS in 2011.

The Post has reached out to CNN and Warner Bros. Discovery for comment on Olberman’s comments.

The shakeup to CNN’s Morning lineup came just weeks after the network’s left-leaning anchor Brian Stelter was canned.

Some critics suggested that billionaire media mogul and influential Warner Bros. Discovery board member John Malone was the driving force behind CNN’s overhaul.

Malone denied any involvement in Stelter’s shooting, although he acknowledged that he wants CNN to be “more centrist.”
