Detroit Lions rule out Frank Ragnow, three other starters questionable vs. Washington

allen park – The Detroit Lions will be down second starting offensive lineman for the team’s Week 2 game against the Washington Commanders on Friday, dismissing center Frank Ragno.

Ragno suffered a groin injury in the week of practice leading up to the season opener, but was still able to start the competition, playing all 69 offensive snaps. This week, he was sidelined for an entire week of practice, adding a leg injury to his list of concerns.

It is unclear whether the foot injury is related to a surgically repaired toe, which prevented him from playing the last 13 games in 2021.

Regardless, the injury left the Lions facing two starters, as right guard Halapauliwati Vaitai was placed on injured reserve with a back injury that required surgery this week.

And things could potentially get worse for the Lions’ offensive line on Sunday, with guard Jonah Jackson listed as a suspect for the competition.
