The Dallas Cowboys take a knee on Sunday night in preparation for their 2022 debut, when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After making all of their roster moves last week, including one final adjustment on Monday, the team knows exactly who will be in action once they begin their defense of NFC East.

On Tuesday, the club released its unofficial depth chart for the week, which includes some interesting stuff taken from the offseason, as well as a few things that have raised eyebrows, including 12 defensive starts. The club will raise several practice crew members for the game, and some of them are so anticipated that they are listed on the depth chart.

Starter: Dak Prescott
2nd String: Cooper Rush (PS)

The Cowboys would pick up Rush from the practice team to serve as backup for this competition as Prescott begins his seventh season as a starter. He is injury free but with a low core of target.

Starter: Ezekiel Elliot
Second: Tony Pollard
Third: Rico Dowley

It’s a two-headed attack, but Dowdall’s health allows Kellen Moore to enchant both Elliot and Pollard, who hopefully will see plenty of time together on the field this year.

Starter: CD Lamb

Lamb is going to play X, Z and Slot everywhere, and is being moved around to force him to declare a defense.

Starter: Michael Gallup
Second: Jalen Tolbert

Gallup won’t be ready to go this week but he’s close. Rookie Tolbert struggles with consistency during camp, but it’s time to put on the big boy pants.

Starter: Noah Brown
Second: Cavonte Turpin
Third: Dennis Houston

Fans will suspect that Brown is ready to hit the headlines but he had an incredible camp. Expect Turpin to play a bigger role on the offense outside of his returner duties.

Starter: Dalton Schultz
Second: Jake Ferguson
Third: Peyton Hendershot

Behind Schultz lies nothing but youth, which raises some alarm considering how much will be asked to help deal with Tee.

Starter: Tyler Smith
Second: Matt Waletzko

The Cowboys had a plan; It was a bad plan, but it was his plan. Now they have 2023 planned from a year ago. At least they got Josh Ball out of LT Paint.

Starter: Conor McGovern
Second: Tyler Smith

McGovern gets a second chance to make a first impression. He didn’t do well to replace Conor Williams last season, and he spent this training camp on the right while Tyler Smith got used to. This is an area of concern over crime.

Starter: Tyler Biadaszo
Second: Matt Farniok

It was so interesting that Dallas gave Biadaz the safe-starter treatment, playing the first 15 snaps of the first game and never again. They seem far more confident than the fanbase.

Starter: Jack Martin
Second: Matt Farniok

Martin is the best in the world at his work. Hopefully Dallas doesn’t diminish his perceived worth by what is around him in the second half of his career.

Starter: Terence Steele
Second: Josh Ball

Steele is now set up as a starter for the first time in his career and needs to be better on the right (where Stephen Jones said he was in the spring) than on the left.

Starter: DeMarcus Lawrence
Second: Tarell Basham
Third: Sam Williams

Lawrence was injured after Week 1, but appeared to be part of a top-tier DE in every game he played in 2021.

Starter: Quinton Bohanna
Second: Neville Gallimore
Third: John Ridgeway

It’s interesting to see that Bohanna, who had a great training camp, got clearance here, but Gallimore is the second three-tech and will more often than not as passing down is now a base approach.

Starter: Osa Odighizuwa
Second: Tristan Hill

Unlike Gallimore Odighizuwa getting clearance at the starting line isn’t insignificant, guys.

Starter: Dorrance Armstrong
Second: Dante Fowler
Third: Chauncey Golston

Armstrong sat out the entire preseason, so the Cowboys firmly believe he is capable of being the leading man to replace Gregory. Fowler would have to play in control or he would get the DNP-Coach’s decisions.

Barr Parsons is insured, but will play along with the vendor ish. It may take some time for Cox to return to top capacity after last year’s ACL tier.

Starter: Anthony Brown
Second: Calvin Joseph
Third: CJ Goodwin

Joseph now has a lot of work to do on the Browns to field, surprising many who thought he had a chance to enter the final President’s Game of 2021.

Starter: Jordan Lewis
Second: Daron Bland

The slot corner is one of the league’s toughest jobs and with only Lewis now underrated, Bland looks like a Dimond-in-the-ruff.

Starter: Trayvon Diggs
Second: Nahshon Wright

Can Diggs lead the league in INT in back-to-back seasons like Everson Walls? Don’t bet against him, he’s a magnet.

(AP Photo/Daniel Cousin Jr.)

Starter: Jayron Kearse
Second: Israel Mukumu

Mukumu is a Keras clone, but all eyes will be watching to see if Keras was a surprise of the year or whether Dallas had actually discovered a gem.

(AP Photo/Ashley Landis)

Starter: Donovan Wilson

Wilson is able to do everything in a safe state as long as he is healthy. But that has been the hardest part.

Starter: Malik Hooker
Second: Marquez Bell

No one talks about Hooker except Jerry Jones; Dark Horse will emerge as the start of this season.
