Boat burned in Piscataqua River near New Castle

A 72-foot boat burned in the Piscataqua River near New Castle on Saturday, according to the US Coast Guard. The Coast Guard initially reported to News 9 that two people were on the boat but were evacuated safely by a Good Samaritan. Portsmouth Fire Dept. later released that three people were recovered in the water. They were treated for minor injuries at Wentworth Marina by New Castle Fire Dept. and Newington Ambulance, crews said. New Hampshire Marine Patrol, Newington Fire Dept., Rye Fire Dept. and Salisbury, Massachusetts Fire Dept. assisted at the scene.
