Alabama football will finally see what Tua can do
The NFL has seen more movement in this offseason than any year in recent memory. With so much talent moving to the AFC, it was only a matter of time for the Miami Dolphins to get involved. They did what they needed to do for Alabama football’s Tua Tagovailoa to prove himself as a franchise quarterback.
Miami’s moves started before free agency. They hired Mike McDaniel, a guru with a great offensive mind. He knows how to develop players and get the most production out of his scheme. The Dolphins then tagged Mike Gesicki and signed Cedric Wilson, which were baby steps in the right direction.
Signing Connor Williams at guard was another key move, but it wasn’t enough. The Dolphins had the worst offensive line in the NFL last year, so they needed to make major moves. That’s what they did over the past few days.
The Dolphins started by signing Terron Armstead, the former left tackle of the New Orleans Saints. The deal was sizable, but it would be worth it if Tua could rely on his offensive line to protect him. The next day, they traded for Tyreek Hill, the fastest player in the NFL.
Hill is incredibly explosive, and he will be paired with Alabama football’s Jaylen Waddle. This is easily the fastest duo in the NFL, and the Dolphins also signed two speedy running backs.
This is exactly what Tua needs to prove himself, and the Dolphins might not be done. They still have some draft capital, and adding an interior offensive lineman would bolster the unit. Either way, Tua can now rely on his protection and trust every receiver on the field. The run game will be improved, and the defense will remain strong. This is great news for Alabama football fans who want to see Tua succeed in the NFL.
