The New York Jets selected wide receiver Garrett Wilson with the 10th overall pick in the NFL Draft. Wilson will bring a new dimension to the Jets’ passing attack, but how impactful will he be in his rookie year? Let’s look at the odds and our expert predictions for one of New York’s first-round picks.
Jets rookie WR Garrett Wilson’s odds this season
Garrett Wilson has a variety of betting markets available centered around his rookie season stats. A list of some stat props and award odds, along with where they are offered are listed below:
|Regular Season Receiving Yards Over / Under||o749.5 (-115) / u749.5 (-115)||DraftKings|
|Regular Season Receiving TDs Over / Under||o3.5 (-140) / u3.5 (+110)||DraftKings|
|Regular Season Receiving Leader||+10000||Caesars|
|Offensive Rookie of the Year||+900||PointsBet|
|Offensive Player of the Year||+20000||PointsBet|
Wilson will be an instant target for Jets QB Zach Wilson, and if the rookie is able to haul in 750 receiving yards or more, a wager of $ 115 on the over would return 100 of profit. See below for our expert’s prediction on whether or not this is likely to happen.
Additionally, Caesars sportsbook currently has the best odds for Wilson to be the Regular Season Receiving Leader across the whole NFL (not just rookies). Although we think this is unlikely, a $ 10 wager would return 1,000 if Wilson pulls off a historic rookie season.

Garrett Wilson receiving yards total over / under prediction: Under 749.5 yards (-115)
Jets fans were pumped when they found out Garrett Wilson was coming to New York, as the standout from Ohio State will immediately be a presence in the passing attack. The former Buckeye had 2,213 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns across three seasons and racked up 1,058 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in his final college season. The Jets were linked to Deebo Samuel, Tyreek Hill and Calvin Ridley throughout the offseason but couldn’t get a trade done.
Instead, New York will boast one of the best young wide receiver duos in the NFL with Wilson and Elijah Moore. Moore had a fantastic rookie season, totaling 538 receiving yards in 11 games, but he struggled to stay on the field and missed the last five games of 2021 with a quad injury. DraftKings has set Wilson’s regular season receiving yards total at 749.5 yards, and we think he may struggle to reach that number.
Keyshawn Johnson is the only rookie Jets receiver with more than 750 receiving yards in his first year, and only four rookie receivers have topped 500 yards in their first season in New York. Additionally, in the last five seasons, only non-rookies Jamison Crowder (2019), Robby Anderson (2018 and 2019) and Jermaine Kearse (2017) have topped 750 receiving yards. Although quarterback Zach Wilson will likely take a step forward this season, he has a multitude of wide receivers to throw to and will spread the ball across the offense. Zach Wilson formed a connection with Elijah Moore at the start of last season, and we believe that it will be too tough for Garrett Wilson to acclimate to the NFL and lead the Jets in receiving this season.
Historically, Jets rookies haven’t had a significant impact immediately, and Joe Namath is the only Jets player to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Wilson has odds of +900 to win OROY on PointsBet, which is 5th most likely, and just behind his new teammate Breece Hall who’s at +850. If Wilson is to contend for the award he will need to have more than 750 receiving yards, but it would be impressive if he is able to reach this number.
Expect Garrett Wilson to have a great career in New York, but we predict that he will have under 749.5 receiving yards in his rookie season.
Garrett Wilson receiving touchdowns prediction: Over 3.5 touchdowns (-140)
The New York Jets had just 20 passing touchdowns last season (27th in the NFL), but four of their six games where they had multiple came after Week 7. Zach Wilson showed improvement throughout the season and could be poised to have a breakout sophomore year. . Projections have Wilson around 23-24 touchdowns next season, and we believe that Garrett Wilson could find himself hauling in at least four of those.
The Ohio State standout had at least five touchdowns in each of his three seasons, scoring 12 in his junior season. Wilson presents explosive play ability and averaged 15.5 yards per reception in his collegiate career. Only four Jets wide receivers have scored four touchdowns in their rookie season, but Elijah Moore did it by hauling in six scores last season. The Wilson to Wilson combination may need time to take off, but there is no doubt that Garrett will be targeted in the red zone if coverage is focused on Moore. Therefore, we predict that Garrett Wilson will have over 3.5 receiving touchdowns in one year.
Caesars Currently has the best odds for Garrett Wilson to rack up the most receiving yards this regular season and are also offering a risk-free bet up to 1,100! Click here to sign up and get in on this great offer.
